Mustafa Siddiqui

Mustafa is a commercially focused, value-driven energy professional with over 25 years of international leadership experience. He is currently a Director at Enerqui and a Partner at Pecten’s M&A practice. He has held diverse technical and commercial roles spanning acquisitions, divestitures, joint venture management, business planning, engineering, operations, and supply chain management. He has worked with top-tier companies such as Shell and Schlumberger on global investment projects across the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
He leverages his entrepreneurial mindset and deep understanding of business integration to align commercial, operational, and corporate goals to drive strategic sustainable growth and deliver value.
He has advised C-suite executives on investment portfolios, joint venture governance, and due diligence matters, enabling informed investment decisions for partnerships with public, private, international, and national energy companies. Mustafa has a proven track record of creating value in complex investments within challenging socio-economic and geopolitical environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams. He has experience in opportunity screening, valuation, due diligence, technical analysis, value assurance, integration, country entry and exit, venture formation, transaction support, and execution.
His career spans the oil and gas value chain, chemicals, renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, and other sectors. Over the last several years, Mustafa has volunteered with the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN), contributing to the development of model agreements for LNG, Gas, and Hydrogen Sales Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Joint Development and Operating Agreements (JOAs), and working groups on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCUS), Carbon Markets, hydrogen and low carbon energy.
Mustafa holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer, a social entrepreneur in the health-tech space, and an angel investor in women and minority led, tech-enabled startups.
