Ana Luiza Saboia

Ana Luiza Saboia de Freitas is a senior Consultant in new business and joint ventures contracts negotiation at PETROBRAS, with more than fifteen years of experience in the Brazilian Oil & Gas Industry. Ana Luiza has been in charge of some negotiations in the complex Brazilian environment, where different fiscal regimes may co-exist in the same area. Since 2012, Ana Luiza develops commercial solutions for upstream joint ventures to PETROBRAS and its coventurers, as well as negotiates some key contracts such as joint operating agreements, unit operating agreements, oil offtake agreements, production handling agreements. Ana is also in charge of training PETROBRAS staff in upstream joint venture management.
In June 2023, Ana Luiza was a panelist in the event “Complex Negotiations in the Energy Industry” – AIEN Latin America & Caribbean Chapter in Rio de Janeiro, that took place in the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro. Ana was one of the lead negotiators of the Sepia Project, that was awarded Venture of the Year at the AIEN 2024 International Energy Summit annual awards in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ana Luiza has a degree in Geology and is MSc. Environmental Engineering. From 2006 to 2011, Ana worked with produced water and upstream effluents final disposal at PETROBRAS, when she was part of the task force that developed a solution for monitoring water uses and wastewater final disposal in upstream operations. Before joining PETROBRAS staff, Ana worked as a Hydrogeologist in projects related to groundwater and watershed management, carried out in Brazil and La Plata Basin – South America.
Ana is a nature enthusiastic and in her spare time she loves hiking in the Atlantic Forest or in the Brazilian outback. She also loves spending time with her friends and listening to a good Brazilian music.
