Join the Australia-Pacific Chapter and the Australian Institute of Energy Sydney Branch for an event on "Importing LNG into NSW and the Bigger Picture." With the tight supply-demand balance in Australian east coast gas markets biting hard into industrial and commercial gas users’ profitability, and in some cases viability, the race is on to bring on new gas supply in Eastern Australia. However, with prospects for development of new onshore gas resources in NSW and Victoria either severely hobbled or outright scratched, the odds are shortening on alternative options from further afield. One such contender already well out of the stalls is Australian Industrial Energy, with its proposal to import Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) into Port Kembla, NSW. The scale of the proposed venture is such that it has been described as a game-changer for NSW. The presentation will also provide a wider perspective on gas and LNG markets in the Asia-Pacific. This will outline the regional context as it impacts on Australian gas markets and potential interactions into the future.
Please join us for this important update on events in the gas sector, followed by networking and drinks.
Registration is complimentary for members, non-members, and students. RSVP by August 20 to Amy Ghataora at amy.ghataora@allens.com.au, as space is limited.
