The presentation will be on “Petroleum in Iraq - An Introduction to Legal and Practical Issues”. It will be of interest any IOC or OSC which operates or is considering investment in Iraq, as well as their private practice legal counsel. It will cover:
• An introduction to the petroleum sector in Iraq.
• An overview of the Iraqi procurement rules and how they are applied in the context of IOC subcontracts.
• An overview of the new labor code and how it concerns IOCs and OSCs.
• The rise in litigation involving IOCs and OSCs in Iraq including case studies.
• An overview of Iraqi anti-bribery rules.
