AIPN-YN US Chapter Breakfast Speaker Series: AIPN Model Form JOATuesday, November 14, 2017 (7:30am - 9am US/Central) Norton Rose Fulbright 1301 McKinney Street, Suite 5100 [map] Houston, TX |
David H. Sweeney, Partner, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP
Join the AIPN-YN US Chapter for the Breakfast Speaker Series on AIPN's Model Form Joint Operating Agreement (JOA). The presentation will discuss the details of the AIPN JOA, as well as the most useful negotiating points that every great negotiator must be aware of. The JOA is one of the most important agreements that each oil & gas negotiator, commercial professional, and lawyer must thoroughly understand. It is a document that is complex, lengthy, and full of nuances that govern the relationships, rights, duties, and obligations of co-venturers in the same oil and gas contract area for the following 20-30 years. AIPN's 2012 Model Form JOA is a flagship agreement of AIPN that has been modified several times and significantly updated to bring it to its current modern form to reflect how this industry operates.
Continental breakfast and networking starts at 7:30 a.m. There will also be time for questions and brief discussions, so come prepared with questions.
Online registration has been closed. On-site registration will be on a space available basis, and is $20 for members; $25 for non-members and $10 for students.
AIPN-YN is dedicated to providing a platform for energy professionals to stay informed on industry trends and provides opportunities to connect and collaborate with peers, senior professionals, and mentors.
David Sweeney’s experience includes the full natural resource value chain, from exploration, production, processing, and infrastructure, to monetization.
