Join AIPN's Mexico Sub-chapter of the Latin America Regional Chapter for "The Great Trap: The Massive Influence of Monetary Policy in Energy and the Global Economy." When discussing the prices of energy and raw materials, it is common to forget one of the essential factors when generating inflation in oil and other assets denominated in dollars: monetary policy. However, it is one of the most important factors and as governments become aware of this influence on essential aspects of the economy, they intensify their attempts to influence prices through huge increases in liquidity and interest rate cuts. When analyzing that type of monetary environment, the geo-politician is added, and now the attempt by China to dethrone the dollar as a reserve currency in the energy market is a reality. What impact can be generated in the world at an economic and energy level? Is this the end of the dollar as a reference for trade in raw materials? Is the world facing the end of oil as a primary energy source, which would lead to a race for the big economies to lead the change? How does this affect producing countries like Mexico? These questions and others questions will be discussed at this event.
