The Part 3 workshop aims to give participants a basic idea of the commercial and legal issues which arise in relation to sole risk operations under the JOA. A web-link and password to the materials required for the workshop will be made available to participants after registration.
The workshop will open with a brief presentation on Article 7 of the JOA, that is "Operations by Fewer Than All Parties".
Participants will have been informed of their teams to negotiate the issues set out in the case study, under the guidance of the workshop coordinators, prior to the workshop. The workshop will end with a brief summary to share the findings of each negotiation table. Materials for the case study will be made available to participants after registration.
There is no need to have participated at the Part 1 or Part 2 workshops to participate at this Part 3 workshop.
SPECIAL NOTE: A participant should chose to attend either as “Business” or as “Legal” at the time of registration. If a participant chooses to attend as “Business”, he or she should register as a pair. We would recommend pairing up with a colleague within the same organisation. If a participant is unable to find a partner, a sub-chapter committee member within that person’s organisation may help allocate a partner for him or her. A participant may register without a partner, in which case the coordinators may choose your partner at their discretion on the day. If a participant choses to attend as “Legal”, he or she may register without a partner.
When registering, participants should report their selection of "Vorenus" or "Pullo". The coordinators may at any time change such selection at their discretion to restore any imbalance in numbers.
Post-workshop drinks will be held at Au Fils de Jour, Kawate BLDG, 5-8 Nishi-Shimbashi 1-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo from 8:30 p.m.
This event is complimentary for members and non-members, however RSVP is required by June 19.
Please RSVP to Yoko Kuratomo at 03-3282-0465 or ykuratomo@velaw.com.
