Andrew Harwood, Wood Mackenzie, Research Director - Asia Pacific, Upstream Oil & Gas
Join AIPN's Asia Chapter Young Negotiators and the Asia Young Professional Networks of SEAPEX, SPE Singapore and the Energy Institute for a networking event and presentation on what to look forward to in 2018 from a global and regional upstream & energy perspective.
In 2017, the upstream industry saw incremental improvements and in 2018 the price of oil now stands above $60 USD/bbl. The increased prices of oil are grounds for renewed optimism because investment is stabilizing and new project sanctions are on the up, which is a key barometer for confidence in the sector. Tight oil will also enter its second great phase of growth – with implications for global oil markets. Also, 2018 is shaping up to be a massive year for portfolio renewal, with over 15 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) of discovered resource opportunities (DROs) up for grabs in Brazil and the Middle East.
Will Asia-Pacific join the recovery or do the fundamental barriers to invest in the region remain? Join us as we highlight our top global and regional upstream themes to look for in 2018.
