Scholarship Program
Student Scholarship Program
Created in 2009, the annual Scholarship Program awards students who demonstrate strong character, academic ability, and a potential to make a significant contribution to the field of international energy negotiations. Up to 10 scholarships can be awarded annually in honor of long-time member and contributor Gordon Barrows. Each scholarship is in the amount of $2,000, split $1,000 for each semester, and paid directly to the winner's university. Scholarship applications are reviewed annually by the committee.
Qualified applicants must be either current AIEN members or applicants for membership and be full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a college or university of higher learning.

The following criteria will be used by the Scholarship Committee:
- Applicant is a current AIEN member or applicant for AIEN membership.
- Possess potential to make a significant contribution to the field of international energy negotiations.
- Exhibit academic, leadership, and negotiation ability.
- Exhibit financial need.
