John Chambers, Managing Director, Larus Energy
John Chambers is an energy executive with 38 years of global experience across exploration, development and production activity in technical, commercial and senior management roles. John retired from Santos at end 2022 where he had been Vice President for Offshore Upstream, Northern Australia and Timor-Leste. Other roles John had variously held in Santos include Vice President and Country Manager Santos PNG, Asia Pacific Exploration Manager, President Santos Bangladesh, Country Manager Santos Vietnam, Country Manager Santos India and Exploration Manager Onshore Australia. John has served on the Council of the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum as well as on the Executive of the Australia-PNG Business Council.
Prior to joining Santos, John worked extensively throughout Western Australia, Southeast Asia and South America for Woodside, LASMO and Venture Production. John has a BSC (Hons) Degree with a Geology major from University of Melbourne and a combined UNISA/UCL MBA with an energy focus and is a Graduate of AICD. John was appointed Managing Director of Larus Energy Limited in 2024 and also runs a consultancy business, Wollemi Energy Consultants, which focuses on assisting developing nations and resources companies navigate the energy transition while optimising benefit sharing.
Vaughan Mills, Head of PNG Practice, Corrs Chambers Westgarth
Vaughan is a highly experienced projects and transactions lawyer with a focus on natural resources and infrastructure, particularly in Papua New Guinea.
He has been described as having a 'first class commercial approach' and has been consistently ranked as a tier 1 leading individual in Chambers Global since 2009. He has worked on some of the world’s largest and most complex natural resources projects and transactions.
Vaughan is admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, and in the High Court of Australia.
Vaughan is a Vice-President of the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council Executive Committee.
Tracey Greenaway, Head of Energy and Natural Resources, Corrs Chambers Westgarth
Tracey has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy sector specialising in major LNG, natural gas and energy projects and transactions.
Tracey acts for both Australian and international energy companies, project developers, financial sponsors and traders on acquisitions and divestments, joint ventures and project development transactions across the sector, including upstream oil and gas, LNG import and export facilities and gas storage and transportation infrastructure.
She also advises on energy transition, including renewable energy and decarbonisation projects.
Tracey has worked in London, Singapore, the Netherlands and Australia and has advised clients across a wide range of jurisdictions including Europe, South East Asia, Africa, Russia and Australia.
She is a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators and is admitted to practice in Australia, England, Wales and Scotland.
