Europe Chapter Event "Reflections and War Stories from Joint Ventures"

Geoff Walker is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura based in Washington, DC. He joined Ankura in July 2020, following Ankura’s acquisition of Water Street Partners, which he co-founded in 2008. Water Street Partners has been independently ranked as the number one global advisor on joint ventures since 2017. Geoff has extensive experience structuring and restructuring joint ventures and advising clients on maximizing the value of their joint venture portfolios. Geoff serves a global client base primarily of companies in the natural resources sector, including oil & gas, metals & mining, chemicals, utilities, and alternative energy. He is a regular, featured speaker at industry and corporate events and has written extensively on joint ventures.

Geoff joined Water Street from the Corporate Executive Board (now Gartner), where he led and launched businesses in the Executive Board’s Legal and Governance Practice.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Geoff served with distinction as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He is an accomplished helicopter pilot, with over 1000 hours in the SH-60 Seahawk. Geoff deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001 and served on the staff of on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Evgenia Efimova is the Vice President, Commercial and Governance, Non-Operated Joint Ventures at bp. In her current role she supports the global Non-Operated Joint Venture portfolio, of 350+ NOJVs across the whole bp Group.  

Evgenia started her professional career in KPMG Tax in 1997 and joined bp’s global tax team in 2004.  Throughout her career Evgenia has had a number of finance and commercial roles supporting Non-Operated Joint Ventures. Evgenia has served on Boards as a company nominated director. She is also an alumna of the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. 

Evgenia is very passionate about developing female talent and mentors several high potential and now very successful leaders.

Nick Scott is Mozambique Commercial & Marketing Manager at ExxonMobil, based in Leatherhead, UK. His is current role involves managing conflicts and misalignment, while seeking to maximise value for ExxonMobil and partners in a complex multi-national, multi-layered joint venture developing the Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique. 
Nick joined ExxonMobil in 2005 and has had several finance, planning and commercial roles across Exploration, Development and Production operations in Europe and Africa. He has extensive commercial negotiation and JV management experience from forming and working in Operated and Non-Operated JVs. 

An engineering graduate from Sheffield University Nick started his career on Boots The Chemist graduate scheme where he qualified as a Charter Management Accountant before enjoining ExxonMobil’s North Sea Production business unit in the finance team in London. 

Humphrey Douglas is an energy partner in Dentons' London office with over 20 years' experience throughout the energy value chain. He previously acted as General Counsel for a Middle Eastern state energy company.
Humphrey specializes in international acquisitions and disposals (both asset and corporate deals) and in oil, gas, conventional power and renewables. He also advises on energy joint ventures, restructuring, commercial contracts and regulation.
