Bill Marko is a Managing Director of Jefferies LLC in the Energy Investment Banking Group. He has managed more than $72 billion of asset and corporate transactions. He specializes in applying detailed technical evaluations to M&A transactions. While his activities are focused in the U.S., Bill also works on worldwide projects with Jefferies’ London based energy team and he heads Jefferies’ Canadian upstream activities. Prior to joining Randall & Dewey, subsequently purchased by Jefferies, Mr. Marko worked more than 18 years in various engineering, operations and commercial roles at Mobil Oil.
With more than 38 years of industry experience in worldwide acquisition, divestment and new business development, he has evaluated transactions in all major U.S. basins and more than 80 countries.
Bill is on the Board of Administrators of Tulane University, a member of the Board of Advisors of the Tulane School of Science & Engineering, a former Chair of the Tulane University President’s Council and a registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana.
Scott Porter has over 30 years’ experience negotiating a wide range of transactions in the energy sector. He began his career in corporate banking with Chemical Bank and Chase Manhattan in both New York and Houston where he focused on project financing in gas storage, cogeneration, pipelines and oil & gas, in addition to acquisition financing for independent EP companies. In 1996 he moved to Enron International to lead business development efforts in Latin America including building gas and power positions in both Argentina and Brasil. Scott joined Royal Dutch Shell in 2002 and has lived in London, The Hague and Singapore. His experience during this period included working on a variety of both upstream and downstream projects including divestments in Africa, joint venture restructurings in the FSU, acquisitions in Europe and A&D work in SE Asia. In 2016 Scott re-located to Houston with Shell to lead the deal execution team for Shell’s upstream and integrated gas business in the Americas. His team has been instrumental in delivering a number of divestments for Shell over 2016 – 2018 in addition to evaluating key options for growth in the Shales and Deep Water upstream businesses. Scott was appointed Vice President Commercial/NBD, North America & Brasil in May 2019.
Scott graduated from Duke University and attended business school at the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Business in Phoenix. He is married with four sons.
Paul Keenan is a partner with the Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. Paul's practice includes the representation of foreign and domestic corporate debtors and creditors in out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy cases, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, distressed asset sales, corporate wind downs and UCC foreclosures. Paul has substantial experience in cross-border restructurings and bankruptcies. He speaks Spanish and has significant experience living and working in Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a Fellow of INSOL International for having completed an intensive course in cross-border restructurings. Among other accomplishments in this area, Paul represented a leading Latin American airline in its successful out-of-court restructuring of USD 2.5 billion in debt and a Mexican satellite company in its restructuring of USD 420 million in debt through a prepackaged plan of reorganization in Delaware. Paul has significant experience with the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency (enacted as chapter 15 under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code). He obtained official recognition in Colombia of a U.S. chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization case, and also official recognition in the United States of a Colombian restructuring proceeding. In each case, it was the first time that the courts of Colombia and the United States had recognized each other's corporate restructuring proceedings.
Denmon Sigler is a partner and Chair of the Energy Transactional Practice Group. Denmon offers over 17 years of experience representing exploration and production, refining, chemical, petrochemical and energy services clients in complex, frequently cross-border, transactions involving the purchase and sale of companies, business units and assets, spin-offs, the formation and governance of joint ventures, and project development, as well as operating and maintenance, product feedstock and offtake arrangements. Denmon is widely recognized for her transaction expertise, being named to the Houston Business Journal's Who's Who in Energy. She has been recognized by Chambers USA, Nationwide: Energy, Oil and Gas (Transactional), Legal 500 United States and The International Who's Who for Energy Lawyers.
