Join the US Chapter for its first luncheon of the year where a trio of experts will discuss the current trends in international exploration and production and political risk.
Investors and advisors balance above-ground and below-ground risks when making investment decisions. This is especially important for the international projects that international negotiators help develop. Most negotiators are aware that projects with the most favorable below-ground risk and resource potential often exist in regions where assessing and mitigating above-ground risk is the most challenging.
The tools for evaluating below-ground risk are familiar: geological studies, geophysical studies, and exploration wells. The tools for evaluating above-ground risk are less familiar but require political, economic, legal, and historical insights to develop strategies and tactics for risk mitigation. Successful international projects require a team of experts with experience in maximizing resource identification and exploitation with minimal economic risk.
The panel will answer questions such as:
- Where are the worlds hot spots that are now attracting E&P investments?
- What above-ground risks currently cause investor headaches in these and other locations?
- From a financing perspective, what do the people funding these projects look for?
- Is there any private equity interest in the international sector these days?
